Why LED street light save engery

Now LED lighting are widely used in street lighting, garden lighting and commercial lighting, and general lighting is the prospective future of LED industry. Australia has already begun using LED street lights to take place of traditional fluorescent lamps. It is expected that the plan would be launched nationwide in the next few years, so LED market will get a rapid development in a few years.
These energy efficient alternatives include compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) which use only 20 percent of the electricity to produce the same amount of light. Using less energy means reduced greenhouse gas emissions and lower electricity bills-benefits to both the environment and individuals.
LED street lighting in Australia is very efficient compared to other countries. The Government is working with LED lighting industry and the relevant Australian Standards Committee to save the amount of energy by using LED street lights. In addition, in view of the shadow of energy crisis, the world has stepped into "energy saving time". Many countries are positive to rapidly LED lights instead of traditional incandescent lamps through the legislation and the government guidance. Demand prospect of LED lighting market is considerable.
In street lighting applications, several LEDs chips are attached to a coated printed circuit board and encased in a protective covering to suit the external environment. The LED fixture doesn't require a ballast or capacitor; instead, it converts the supply voltage to low voltage direct current, using a small electronic power supply.
